I’m currently working on a beautiful new collection of paintings.

Influenced by living on the West Coast of Scotland. I create contemporary mixed media paintings.

Weaving a story of exceptional beauty. Capturing fleeting moments of light & evoking memories of time spend within this enticing Highland landscape.

Living so closely to the shores of a loch over these last years, it is here where my work developed.

Embracing swimming in the cold waters, has truly influenced the collection of paintings from Gairlochy.

My history of working in this area within the landscape, as a run guide and outdoor instructor has been very colourful and one well connected with people & place. This often finds it’s way into the narrative of my work.

Witnessing the constant changing beauty of the West Coast throughout the seasons continues to influence my work. The changing light, the weather or how it feels to be within these unique locations continually inspires me. Through abstract expressionism my work reflects elements of these places.

I began my studies at Heriot-Watt University with a Textile Design Degree background. Now I’m a self led artist embracing solo work, solo practices, drawing, painting, writing. And now enjoying new forms of expression on and off the canvas.

How it comes together

The beginnings of a piece of work will be captured from sketches taken on location.

Being immersed outside/en plein air, my visual expression/impression of these places often comes first.

This is further progressed into artworks at the home studio. The whole process is akin to reflection or journaling.

Studio

I’m delighted to be working from my home studio in the beautiful Highlands.

Over the years traveling, spending time in different locations/environments, I found myself always returning home to the West Coast.

Evolve

Opening up possibilities to showcase my work worldwide is my next venture. I’m continuing to delve into new explorative processes of self expression.
